10:00 a.m. – Monthly Meeting

Dear Brethren; we have established the M.W.D. meeting schedule for the 2015 year and for the remainder of this year. October 11th, Clinton Lodge No. 47; November 8th, Hoover Lodge No. 270 and December 6th, Conrad Lodge No. 271. Breakfasts available from: 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with meetings at 10:00 a.m.

The following items were discussed at our last joint meeting with T.V.L.A., S.L.O.A. and M.W.D.:

1) The need for more family oriented events, especially for our younger members with families.

2) Blue Lodge Association minutes need to be read at lodge meetings.

3) More participation by officers at Saturday morning meetings when the written ritual is available.

4) More events that include our ladies.

5) Next year’s “All Masonic Picnic” is now scheduled for August 22, 2015 at Tadmor Shrine. All lodges and other Masonic bodies are asked to keep that date open.

The November meeting of M.W.D. will be our annual meeting and election of officers.

Fraternally,

Gordon L. Broome, President

Greetings Sir Knights! We hope everything is well with you and your family. Looking forward to having you with us at our stated meetings and at the dinners we serve for Scottish Rite on the second Thursday of each month. We could always use your presence or help if you could.

We are going to Grand Commandery in Columbus, Ohio on the 10th and 11th of October. If you would like to be present, contact our Recorder for information.

We will be having a number of special meetings to confer work and also practice the “Full Form” opening and also the Order of the Temple Degree; come and join us. We can always use a few more Knights in the lines and also on the sidelines.

This year will be a little different; our new Grand Commander has stated he wants the “Full Form” opening done before our inspection so, at our stated meeting on December 16th, we will do the “Full Form” Opening. On January 17th, we will have our inspection and than, at our stated meeting in May, our Grand Commander will be present. Please make a special effort to be present at these meetings.

As you know, it takes a brother who is a Royal Arch Mason to become a Knight Templar, so let us invite ore brothers who are not as of yet members of the York Rite Bodies. I am sure they will enjoy their journey through the degrees and orders.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at our stated and special meetings.

Fraternally

Bill Stratton, Commander

Hello Companions! I was attending a Boy Scout Junior Leader Training Campout last weekend. One of the things that they tried to instill in the boys was a sense of pride in their unit and how important it is for the unit to thrive. As I thought about this, Masonry came to mind. I believe that the same applies to us in Masonry. In attending meetings and going through the motions a lot of people get really bored (including me sometimes.) In this I would like all your help. Please give me any new ideas or tell me about things that we used to do that you really enjoyed.

I look forward to our Council having a great year. We have a lot of new members who are excited to learn. Please feel free to call me or email me with your ideas. (216) 276-0436 or, Larry.haines@hhgregg.com

Better attendance is needed at our meetings, so please attend as degree work is coming and we can use the help. See you at lodge.

Grand Chapter was held in Dayton, Ohio, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th. We learned a lot and those who were able to attend had a great time. Our own Trevor Sproul was Master of Ceremonies at the Grand Banquet on Saturday evening. Representatives were there from all the youth groups and it was interesting to hear what they had to say.

A get well card was sent to Liz Taylor who was in the hospital in Kentucky. We hope she is feeling much better by now.

A sympathy card was sent to Eric and Heather Norris on the death of Eric’s grandfather. Our sympathy goes out to the Norris family.

Due to the School of Instruction being held on November 8th, we will be having two meetings in October, rather than one. At the time the September bulletin was written, I said we had only 3 meetings, which would be short form, till the end of our term. Since there will now be four meetings, one was in September, two in October and one in November, we had another long form opening meeting in September, to complete the rules for long and short forms.

Brethren we are already into autumn! This year seems shorter than most. And before we know it, a new Masonic year will be here. With that said I would like to thank everyone for their assistance as well as the nice attendance among brethren, family and friends that we have received.

On the 4th of September, Trinity Lodge held our annual Memorial Service and Awards Night. We had a nice Dinner at 6:30 p.m. prepared by Ill. Bro.Bill Stratton 33rd and his crew. Again thank you.

The Awards were presented by R.W.Bro. Stephen A. Colton, R.W.Bro. Steven S. DeNayer with Wor. Master, Reid McLeod assisting. We congratulate the following for their years of membership: Brothers, Robert L. Morgan and William R. Ramsey, 60 Years; Brothers, James R. Broad, Jerald D. Eppy, Edward C. Streling, Michael E. Toney and Louis S. VanSlyck, 55 Years; Brothers, Thomas A. Love, Thurman S. Miller and Dale E. Walters Sr., 50 Years; Brothers, Edward J. Lantz and Clyde L. Roberts, 45 Years; Brothers, James W. Our September 18th meeting had Wor. Bro. Thomas Young, L.E.O., presenting his last Lodge Educational Lecture for this Masonic year. Thank you Tom for all the work you have done this year.

Now for the Trestle Board: Thursday, October 2nd, we will have our Stated Meeting and also a visitation from the Jobs Daughters. Brethren please come out and see the hard work these young ladies strive for and continue to accomplish.

Our Thursday, October 16th Meeting will be our annual Past Masters Night. These Past Masters always assist us in order for the officers to attend Grand Lodge that evening. They are still the knowledge and history of Trinity Lodge and are always there for all of us.

Our Thursday, November 6th Meeting will be our Annual Stated Meeting and election of officers. Come out and assist us with the election of our up coming officers. If you have not attended lodge recently, now is the time to come back and visit old Brethren as well as old friends; we always have room for anyone that would like to attend..
